this whole topic on gay marriage/adoption/whatever is pissing me off. some people don’t know what the hell they’re talking about, pro AND con. it’s just that when it comes to adoption, having a straight couple as the parents is always going to be the main preference. yes, gay couples should be allowed to adopt, but they need to realize the preference, as sad as it is, will always be the straight couple. can a dad give the love to his daughter the same way a mother can? or can a mom give her sons the same treatment a father can? The answer is no. I’m not saying that one parent loves the child more than the other, but they can’t nurture the child the same way. again, gay couples should be allowed to adopt, but they need to realize why a straight couple gets the preference. yeah it’s a bit twisted, but as the state law says: “it’s for the child’s best interest.”
